What’s our Mission Statement?
To create timeless, hard-wearing clothing inspired by military, outdoor and workwear icons, while raising the bar on cut, construction and craft.
To build our collections in limited edition runs using the best, most sustainably sourced fabrics we can find.
To work together with local suppliers and craftspeople in a sustainable way to ensure our clothes don’t cost the Earth.
Why
Remember when clothes had a clear purpose, work wear, military & Sunday Best? No us neither, we’re not that old, but we do love clothes that had a special purpose; the fabric, the construction, the craftsmanship & details to deliver a function, a quality and design where it was needed thus maintaining a timelessness. Handcrafted by artisans who continue the specific traditions of a particular region and its’ people, craftspeople who keep alive the knowledge that was born from an activity or sport.
Clothing and accessories direct from traditional activities as varied as climbing, fishing, hunting and sailing, along with classic utilitarian workmen’s and heritage military attire.
These days those designs and quality are no longer needed for their original military, sports or workwear purpose, and the construction and materials have been replaced to reduce costs.
Cloth & Cut wants to re-create iconic heritage pieces, one classic at a time, limited to runs of 100, remaining faithful to, and using those tried and tested classic design details, cut of fabric, techniques, and the highest quality materials as used in the original garments.
We love these quality, made to last clothes, saving the planet on the way.
We have been searching for local manufacturers, manufacturers who guarantee authenticity, and who each have their own histories. The most interesting products use time honoured skills of the past developed over the years and make them relevant in the world that we live in today, looking out for Mother Earth and… the added bonus for us is to collaborate with some amazing people, knowing that if they love what they do.. that will show through in the clothes they make, and for you, as you know exactly who and where they come from..
The journey
Now let us take you on the journey for each item Cloth & Cut produces, I hope you join me and enjoy where it takes us & the products that you will love too!
