Chest

For the chest, lay the shirt flat and measure 1โ€ (2.5cm) down from the armpit from armpit to armpit. The measurements begin and end at the fabric, not the seams. The double the figure to get your chest size i.e. 42โ€ (Large) , this is different for shirts and T-shirts which are more close fitting. Over-shirts and jackets tend to be larger i.e for a large it is around 45โ€ to accommodate other layers such as shirts and pullovers.
