The duffel coat design originates from Belgium and was adopted by the British Royal Navy in the 1890s and fully utilised in WW2 as their primary cold weather gear. An iconic piece of military workwear.
Our jacket inspired by the original is made from an 18oz Waxed Canvas from Halley Stevenson, wooden toggle fastenings and 8oz Melton Wool lining from AW Hainsworth. Two simple patch pockets are located to the front of the jacket which is indicative of the simple, utilitarian design.. Made in the UK
